It is applied as a liquid using specialized equipment and quickly expands to form a dense, rigid foam that fills gaps, cracks, and cavities. This expansion allows it to create an airtight seal, making it highly effective for thermal insulation and air barrier applications.
Spray foam and fiberglass are both common insulation materials, but they differ significantly in composition, installation, performance, and cost.

Spray foam offers high R-values (a measure of thermal resistance) and acts as both an insulator and air barrier, improving energy efficiency and reducing air leakage. It also provides some moisture resistance and can add structural strength to walls.
Fiberglass insulation, on the other hand, is made of fine glass fibers and comes in batts, rolls, or loose-fill form. It is installed by placing or blowing it into wall cavities or attics. While it is less expensive than spray foam and easier to install in open areas, it doesn't provide an airtight seal and is less effective at preventing air and moisture infiltration. Fiberglass can also lose effectiveness if compressed or exposed to moisture.
At ThermoShield, our mission is to provide top-quality spray foam insulation that meets the diverse needs of our customers. We believe in delivering efficient and effective solutions that save you money in the long run.
